Our story
Made Studio is a furniture design studio and workshop that creates handcrafted pieces in Melbourne, Australia.
Founded in 2017 and built by Garrett and Alex Lark, the Melbourne brothers instil their decades of combined experience in art, design and architecture into the studio.
The studio’s refined furniture collections merge art, craft, design and technical innovation to realise exquisite pieces. With a reverence for sensory feel and form, Made Studio uses exceptional materials and finishes across all collections, offering additional customisation to clients, designers and architects for their residential and commercial projects.
At the forefront of the Australian furniture design industry, Made Studio delights in working closely with leading architects, designers and private clients as a part of bringing iconic projects to life across our everyday spaces.

The History
2017
Made Studio, as it is today, was founded by Garrett Lark in 2017. With a rich history of working with natural Australian materials, Garrett refined his design style while completing his Master of Landscape Architecture, before returning to creating designs with his hands. After a lifetime of experimenting and building objects and furniture for himself as well as family and friends, he opened his first studio and furniture workshop in Melbourne, Australia that same year.
2020
Quickly outgrowing his first workshop, Garrett brought on a partner In 2020 to expand his studio, merging businesses to Made Studio and Workshop Pty Ltd. As Garrett led the design and manufacturing his partner fostered relationships with Melbourne’s architecture and design community. Between 2020-2022 Made Studio expanded, opening the first showroom in Melbourne’s design district and growing the workshop in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs. In 2022 Garrett’s partner transitioned out of the business and Garrett looked towards the exciting opportunities ahead of Made Studio with his brother.
2022
In 2022 Alex Lark joined his brother as a partner, bringing his extensive experience in the art, design and creative industries that spanned across Melbourne, Los Angeles, New York and Berlin. Combining their design sensibilities and artistic approach to form, function, aesthetics and materiality the Melbourne brothers continue to build upon the foundations of exquisitely designed and hand-crafted pieces.
Present
Today Made Studio’s entire design and workshop team are proud to be a part of pushing the contemporary Australian furniture, art and design landscape forward. It’s a delight for the studio to work with incredible customers and clients as well as Australia’s leading interior design and architecture firms.
