Terms & Conditions

1. Quotations

Quotations are valid for 30 days from issue.

Invoices become invalid if no deposit is made within 30 days of issue. If you would like to pay beyond 30 days of issue, please confirm in writing as a new invoice may need to be issued.

Pricing is inclusive of GST unless expressly written otherwise.

Shipping and delivery costs are dependent on the delivery destination.

Pricing is subject to change without notice.

2. Payment

Payment terms are a 50% deposit with the balance due upon completion of goods and before release.

Your deposit is non-refundable.

Goods remain our property until all payments are received.

We accept bank transfers, checks, debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and AMEX)

A surcharge of 1.75% + A$0.30 for domestic cards and 3.5% + A$0.30 for international cards is applied when paying with debit and credit cards for incurred transaction fees.

3. Modifications

Design modifications outside standard specifications are often possible.

Design modifications usually incur different pricing and longer lead times. 

Requests for design modifications must be submitted in writing.

All modifications are subject to physics, time and approval.

4. Specifications

All drawings, dimensions, samples, descriptive matter, and specifications are intended as a guide only.

We reserve the right to change, alter or modify the design, dimensions, construction, or price of any item without prior written notice.

5. Material, Stain/Oil and Colour Variations

Timber is a natural product.

Colour figure and grain variations will occur throughout the timber even with timber harvested from the same tree.

Each product is unique according to the natural variations that are present in timber.

The natural colour of timber will subtly change over time and reacts to direct sunlight, heat and humidity.

The colour of finishes and lacquer subtly change over time and reacts to direct sunlight.

Variation does not hinder the physical properties of the works. 

There is an expected variation of the tone in the timber when using stains and oils as the finish.

Natural colour variation is not accepted as a reason to reject an item.

6. Order Confirmation

Payment of Invoice/Quote provided, whether 50% deposit or full amount, is considered order confirmation.

We will proceed with your order, as per the provided Invoice/Quote, unless we receive written notification of any requested changes within 24 hours.

Upon request a Sign Off Document (SOD) can be forwarded to you as an acknowledgment of receipt of your order before a deposit is paid.

The SOD supersedes all previous correspondence in relation to your order (verbal, written, graphic, or otherwise).

7. Order Amendment

Due to production times, the workshop begins production shortly after orders are placed.

Orders may only be changed if manufacturing has not begun.

Once an order is confirmed, requests for subsequent changes must be sent in writing.

No guarantee can be made for accomodating requested changes.

Any variation agreed by us will incur additional costs.

8. Shipping and Lead times

An estimated lead time is supplied upon placement of your order.

Lead times commence upon receipt of a deposit payment.

Goods ship only after the balance payment has been confirmed.

Lead times may be impacted by incorrect, missing or partial delivery information.

Sometimes orders can be delayed. This usually occurs when we are working with a partner who experiences a delay on their end that we could not have originally foreseen. If this occurs, we will notify you of the issue, and let you know how long the delay will be. We always try to meet delivery deadlines, but sometimes unforeseen issues occur in production.

9. Delivery

Deliveries are arranged once works are ready for delivery.

Delivery charges cover a single delivery, at ground level, during regular weekday delivery hours.

The buyer is responsible for confirming free and easy access to the intended destination.

Once an order is dispatched, a tracking number (when available) or estimated arrival window will be communicated to the site contact.

Transit times remain beyond our control.

Delivering to complex destinations:

Prior to delivery, the buyer must supply full written details of any challenging access eg. stairs, delivery dock, lift etc.

We reserve the right to on-charge additional costs for unusual access, not advised in writing.

In the rare case of delivery proving impossible:

We may require the buyer to accept the goods and make their own delivery arrangements.

Cancellation of a booked delivery with less than 24 hours notice is subject to a cancellation fee and possible storage fees.

10. Storage

Made Studio offers 1 week of complimentary storage of your piece once it has been completed and we coordinate delivery with you.

If you are not ready to receive your piece, are waiting on project completion or would like us to hold onto your completed piece for longer, Made Studio can store your piece for you at the following rates:

  • $75 for 4 weeks of storage for a coffee table and smaller-sized individual pieces

  • $150 for 4 weeks of storage for armchairs and tables 2000L (mm) and below

  • $250 for 4 weeks of storage for sofas and tables above 2000L (mm)

Storage costs are accrued in 1-week intervals and are invoiced to you before final delivery is released.

11. Inspection

Inspection of products is required promptly upon delivery, confirming all works arrived in the manner intended.

12. Damages

We are not responsible for damages caused by:

Couriers, freight handlers or shipping companies.

Improper unpacking, installation or assembly, removal or re-installation.

Improper cleaning solutions or methods, or failure to follow the Care & Maintenance Guide.

Exposure to weather or unsuitable environment.

In the very rare case of items arriving damaged upon delivery:

All packaging and items must be retained by the receiver.

The receiver must note any damages on the delivery receipt from the carrier.

The receiver must take photographic evidence of the item and packaging and provide a written document. 

The receiver must submit all documentation to us within 7 days of receipt.

Failure to undertake the steps above will invalidate any insurance claim.

We are not responsible for any repairs or replacements reported beyond 7 days.

13. Returns

Due to the hand-made nature of our product, we are not able to offer returns on made-to-order products.

Objects, books, prints and homewares sold from our showroom incur a restocking fee of 20%.

14. Cancellations

A buyer may only cancel an order in writing within 48 hours.

Beyond 48 hours, a partial refund will be made, less 35% administration fee plus manufacturing costs. 

We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time for any reason. In this case, all payments will be returned in full.

Any sales made are expressly conditional upon Purchaser’s agreement to the terms and conditions in this document.

These terms and conditions may be modified or supplemented only by a written document signed by an authorised representative of Made Studio and Workshop Pty Ltd.

These terms and conditions supersede any prior and/or contemporaneous agreements or correspondence between Purchaser and Seller.

Seller reserves the right to change the Terms without notice.

17. Legal Compliance

Purchaser is solely responsible for compliance with all laws, ordinances, regulations, rules and standards relating to the installation, maintenance, use and operation of the products.

This document is given in addition to consumer guarantees and cannot exclude these rights.

18. Limitations of Liability

Made Studio and Workshop Pty Ltd, its contractors and subcontractors or suppliers of any tier, shall not be liable to Purchaser for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from Products or from a breach of this Agreement.

Purchaser’s remedies set forth herein are exclusive and the liability of Seller with respect to the breach of this Agreement or any contract entered into between the parties pursuant hereto shall not exceed the price of the Product(s) or part on which such liability is based.

To the extent that the laws of any jurisdiction do not permit limitations or exclusions of implied warranties, incidental damages and consequential damages, the above limitations may not apply.

In such jurisdictions, the above limitations shall be enforced to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
